TYPOGRAPHY
I thought that this doodle by Alexandra Snowdon was a very cool example of typography. Since this is just a pencil sketch it shows that endless possibilities that exist when drawing text with a pencil and paper. This doesn't even begin to show what can be done with a computer as well.
This is a piece that I found on tumblr from a student studying graphic design. I thought it was interesting the way he used repetition but not in a way to make you read each line. To read the whole line you just have to read the largest of all the lines.
rain
I really like this piece. When I first saw it, it took me a minute to understand it, but the more I looked into it I realized that the rain turns into drain at the end. This tumblr user is not the original artist, but there is a link to his blog at the bottom, I just could not find it on there.
hope is alive
I found this piece, as well as the rest of Drew Melton's pieces very interesting. I think that they show how much can really be done with typography and just using text.
hey you
I actually am thinking of ordering this print! I love this quote beyond believe because it is so damn true. I love the use of banners within the text.
